PixelMonsters

Privacy Policy

Effective July 11, 2026

PixelMonsters (https://pixelmonsters.com) is a small community website. We collect as little as possible, and here is all of it, in plain English.

What we collect

  • Basic analytics. When you visit a page, we record the page path, the referring site, your browser's user-agent string, an anonymous session identifier, your IP address, and your country. We use this to understand what people read and to spot abuse. We also use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which collect similar anonymous performance data.
  • PixelBot conversations. Questions you ask our AI assistant — and its answers — are stored along with your IP address so we can review quality and stop abuse. Questions are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate answers. Don't put personal information in a chat with a cartoon monster.
  • Community forum. A forum account is just a username and a password hash — we deliberately don't collect an email address. Everything you post on the forum is public. We store the IP address a post was made from to deal with abuse. Want a post or your whole account removed? Ask via the Contact page and we'll do it. The forum is 18+ and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 (let alone under 13) — if we learn an account belongs to a minor, we delete the account and its information. If you believe a minor has an account, tell us via the Contact page.
  • Contact messages. Messages you send from our Contact page — and our replies — are stored with your IP address and browser user-agent so we can answer you on the site and deal with abuse. We don't ask for an email address; your conversation is tied to a private key kept in a cookie on your device. Conversations stay until we delete them — ask us in the thread and we'll delete yours.
  • Bot checks. Some forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out. Cloudflare processes technical browser data to make that decision.

What we don't do

  • No accounts, no passwords, no profiles for visitors.
  • No advertising, no selling or sharing data with data brokers.
  • No third-party tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served from our own site.

Service providers

The site runs on Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Anthropic (AI answers), Cloudflare (bot protection), and Stripe (donation payments). Each processes data only to provide those services.

If you donate

Donations are processed by Stripe on their own checkout page. Your card number, billing address, and the email you give for a receipt go to Stripe and are handled under their privacy policy. They never reach this site — we couldn't store your card details if we wanted to.

What we keep is deliberately small: the amount, which server it was for, the date, Stripe's reference ids so we can reconcile a payment or a refund, and — only if you chose to type them — a display name and short message. That name and message stay private unless we approve them for the thank-you list on the support page. Email hello@pixelmonsters.com if you'd like yours taken down.

Retention & your choices

Analytics and chat logs are kept while they're useful for running the site, then cleaned up. If you'd like something you typed removed, email hello@pixelmonsters.com and we'll take care of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
